New York Fashion Week officially has arrived, eliciting envy from frugal fashionistas nationwide.

If you’re not an A-list celeb or recent recipient of a trust fund, the threads worn by the models strutting down the catwalk are far from financially attainable. But you don’t have to be a millionaire to be on-trend this fall, and you can find fashionable pieces at a slew of stores.

Splurge on classic pieces like a good trench coat or black ballet flats, and get your designer-inspired duds at discounted prices. While they might not be the best quality and only last you a season or two, fashionable, trendy pieces get outdated fast, so your hard-earned cash is best invested elsewhere.

Whether you’re lusting over statement furs or crushed velvet this fall, check out these stores for affordable fall fashion. Your #OOTD just got a lot cheaper.

H&M is the grown-up version of Forever21, minus the claustrophobic clothing racks. Prices vary from the insanely low to a bit steeper for a select number of collections.

This year, I’m really feeling this long, gray wool-blend coat that’s only $79; it’s perfect for fall! Another NYFW-worthy look from H&M are these metallic silver sneakers, priced at $29.

Bonus: This retailer is also awesome for stocking up on fashionable basics like plain T-shirts, socks and tanks. Prices on basics drops as low as $6. Because even the trendiest fashion fiends need to be basic every now and then.

Like H&M’s cool cousin visiting from Europe, Zara has slightly higher prices with a bit trendier twist. Trendy pieces for sale currently include a checked pleated skirt for $49 and a contrasting tweed top for $39.

Zara’s new ’70s-inspired collection is also v. relevant, and trendsetters on a budget should check it out. It features slim flare jeans for $69, a floral bow shirt for $29 and a suede mini skirt for $69. Chic just got cheap(ish).

Topshop features fashion with an edge, and is a staple shopping spot for urbanites who stay on top of the latest trends. The best part? Its prices won’t break your budget. You can find trendy pieces like this bib pocket pinafore dress for $68 and this cropped cable jumper for $65.

I also love Topshop because they have petite, maternity and tall collections, as well as discounts for students.

Nordstrom Rack

The designer collections that fill the racks at department store giant Nordstrom are definitely swoon-worthy, but aren’t the best for your bank account. Meet Nordstrom Rack.

Nordstrom Rack features similar, fashionable clothing that can be found at Nordstrom, but at a cheaper price. I found an ALLSAINTS crossbody bag currently 43 percent off, discounted from $148 to $85, as well as online flash event sale featuring heavily discounted Eileen Fisher items. There’s nothing as stylish as saving money, am I right?

While it might seem unlikely that a retailer that offers dog food and paper towels can deliver trendy fashion, Target does. Every so often, the retail chain collaborates with a high-end designer to offer a limited time, exclusive collection at an affordable price.

In the past, notable designers that Target partnered with include Lilly Pulitzer, Missoni, Jason Wu, Phillip Lim, Zac Posen and Jean Paul Gaultier. Be on the lookout for Target’s next designer collaboration, and make some room in your closet. Plus, there are so many additional ways to save at Target; it’s hard not to stop in to see what’s new.
